My name is Brian McCarn and I appreciate you visiting my site.

I’m an insightful and relationship-focused leader with over a decade of experience in finance, strategy, and operations.  I’m agile, thoughtful, and hard working.  My objective is to acquire, grow, and sustain a small business through listening, learning, collaborating, and innovating.

I began my career at Deloitte as a CPA conducting audits for some of the world’s largest financial institutions. After several years, I transitioned within the company to provide acquisition-related services, varying from financial due diligence to post-merger integrations on acquisitions spanning $50 million to >$1 billion.

Most recently, I spent five years in Deloitte’s corporate development group where I drove acquisition and divestiture strategy and execution for its US business.  In this role, I advised senior leadership and managed cross functional teams including business leaders, legal counsel, finance, tax, human resources, risk, IT, and external stakeholders to execute transactions.

I graduated cum laude with a Masters in Accounting from the University of Notre Dame and earned an undergraduate degree in Accounting from the College of Charleston.  I’m originally from Atlanta, Georgia, spent six years in New York City, and currently reside in Portland, Oregon with my wife and two young children.  Outside of work, I love spending time with my family, playing tennis, sailing, hiking, fishing, skiing, and cooking. 

I’m currently pursuing the acquisition of a small business full-time. I’m excited to build my network, evaluate opportunities, and acquire a local company to operate for the long-term. Please contact me if you’re interested in having a conversation.
